About
Sophie Rodriguez
Sophie Rodriguez (she/her) is from Houston, Texas. In August of 2025, she relocated to New York City and began working at Fordham University’s Lincoln Center Campus as the Technical Director of Fordham’s Theatre program. She also teaches a course each semester and works closely with the Assistant Scene Shop Supervisor to construct scenery for Fordham’s Mainstage productions and teach students in their Scenery Practicum hours.
Just before moving to NYC, Sophie graduated with her Master of Fine Arts in Technical Direction from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, and fulfilled the role of Assistant Technical Director of Stage Operations for The Glimmerglass Festival for multiple seasons.
She enjoys all aspects of scenery and fabrication ranging from the ideation to the technical design of a production or project, to getting to see the final product: a fabricated piece, running a repertory Opera season, or helping bring an event to life.
